Focusing on his duties after leaving his brother had been, well, challenging. To put it mildly. He wasn't even sure if his brother would be able to meet up with him later but thinking about it was distracting. He kept dwelling on it as he moved the stars through the sky.

It took time but finally he finished, looking at his work. At this point he could just go do some light reading while he waited to see if Xufeng would join him.

Runyu shook his head at himself before moving the gateway that would pull him from the night skies to his palace instead, his dream beast deciding to linger behind a little longer.

It's a challenge to focus for sure, and yet Xufeng manages it long enough to complete his tasks. He forces himself to rest, as he knows this is when his brother is busiest with his tasks. But when he can't manage to wait any longer, he slips away, heading for his brother's palace to surprise him when the gateway brings Runyu down.

The dream beast is trustworthy, even if had chosen to come down with Runyu. But it's nice to step forward and it just be the two of them, and he smiles. "Distracted?" He asks, a hint of tease in his voice.

Runyu blinked in surprised to find his brother right in front of him. Bursting into laughter, he moved closer to him. Though he hadn't been sure if he'd come all those concerns melted away now as he had him here now. He'd come. He'd come to see him and be with him.

"Perhaps a little. I had things on my mind. Would you like to come to my chambers?"

He grins at the laughter. He'd had a sliver of doubt up until then, that what they'd shared was even real. But the invitation, and the admission, erases them.

"I was hoping for such an invitation."

Leading the way, he waited until they were across the threshold before closing the door behind them. And putting up a barrier so that way they'd be allowed privacy. To just be themselves. To be together in peace for a change.

It was amazing how quickly his shoulders relaxed. "I'm glad you came."

He follows, waiting until that barrier is in place before stepping in close. He barely even gives his brother the chance to speak before he leans in to steal a soft kiss.

"You invited me. Of course I came." But already he feels more relaxed, too.

The soft kiss made him melt and he moved forward so he could steal one back before going to the table. Producing wine for them, he poured them both a cup and offered one to his brother.

"I wasn't sure if you would be too busy," he confessed. "I was happy to see you when I arrived from the night skies."

He chuckles at the answering stolen kiss and follows, taking a seat at the table and accepts the cup of wine with a nod of thanks.

"I will try to visit more often." To surprise his brother...but also just to spend time with him. Where no one can bother them or spy on them.

"It's probably safer to spend time here at least."

Hardly anyone ever stepped foot in his palace aside from his brother. Here he was almost completely isolated from everyone. Something he was used to be it was always so much warmer when he had company like Xufeng.

But it also meant so much more privacy for their secret.

Xufeng has never liked how isolated his brother is. Hardly anyone ever wishes to join Runyu's command, and even fewer stay very long at all. But it means they have more privacy, and that is now working in their favor

"I don't mind."

He smiled at the agreement then decided that it was alright to be bolder. So, he rose up and went over to his brother. A playful look later and he was helping himself to Xufeng's lap. Though he was older, he was pleased to be smaller in this moment.

Oh! He likes this boldness! He laughs and wraps a supportive arm around his brother's waist, holding him closer as he adjusts to make their new position more comfortable. Just for that though, he leans in to kiss Runyu, rubbing their lips playfully together.

Runyu let out a little laugh and playfully pushed Xufeng's face away. "Xufeng, there's no need to rub yourself all over me like that."

Even if it had been cute and sweet. Finishing the wine in his cup, he set it aside. The cup would only be in the way really. Though, he paused before it fully reached the table. "Were you wanting more wine? Is that what you were hinting?"

He grins as he's pushed a bit away and only finishes his cup as well.

"I didn't come here to drink wine, though it is a pleasant flavor." And sets his cup down before stealing his brother's to set it down beside it.

His mouth opened as the cup was stolen from him. Then he shook his head with a smile and attempted to twist to try to get the bottle. Well, assuming his stubborn brother would let him.

"Ah, Xufeng..." He did have another idea. But, of course, his little brother could get quite focused on things if he set his mind to them.

Another day he might just ignore it. But something about his brother's voice has him pause, and he lets the bottle be claimed. Xufeng only wraps his other arm around Runyu's waist, supporting without trying to restrain.

"Tell me." Because his focus right now is Runyu.

Bottle in hand, he turned to face him. It seemed his brother was going to be patient for a moment and let him do this. Good. He gave him a smile then shook his head.

"Close your eyes."

Xufeng huffs a little, giving his brother an exasperated look. Then sighs, rolling his eyes, before closing them as instructed.

He has no reason not to trust Runyu, no matter what his mother says. And even more reason to trust him, now.

Lifting the bottle to his lips, he pours some of the wine into his mouth. Holding it there, he set the bottle aside then shifted so he could straddle Xufeng. Once he was settled, he cupped his face to tilt it up before pressing their lips together.

Gently he let the wine trickle from his mouth to his brother's, sharing it with him as he did.

Impatience still almost ruins his brother's plans, especially when he's suddenly straddled like that! But hands cupping his face help to stop him from opening his eyes too soon. He lets his face be tilted up, only to draw in a startled breath when more than just a kiss follows. He lets his lips part to accept the wine, tongue licking out to lap up anything his brother wishes to share with him. It almost makes him dizzy!

When he'd finished sharing, he pulled back with a smile. Licking his lips, he brushed his thumbs over Xufeng's cheeks. That had been what he'd wanted to try and he was pleased that his brother had been patient long enough to let him. Runyu leaned forward to rest their foreheads together then.

"You see? It can be good to be patient sometimes."

There's a faint flush to Xufeng's cheeks by the time Runyu pulls away, and he absently swallows, licking his lips as he tries to get his breathing back under control. His lips are still tingling!

He manages a chuckle though, leaning a little into his brother's forehead at the gentle touch. "I do see. I admire your patience."

Wrapping his arms around his brother's shoulders, he lifted his head to smile down at him. A soft laugh later and he stole a quick kiss. It was cute to see Xufeng so red in the face actually.

"You're blushing."

If he had feathers like this, they'd be all puffed up! As it is, he ducks his head after that stolen kiss, shifting a little under his brother.

"I hadn't expected to enjoy...something like that."

Xufeng was the cutest person he knew when he was flustered. Runyu couldn't help but to laugh softly as he pressed a kiss to his hair then put his fingers under his chin to beckon him to look at him again.

"We can always do it again. Or...more if you like."
